Judith “Judy” Brookens Hock, 77, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 in the Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on December 10, 1946 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles T. Brookens and Mary Louise Cool Brookens. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth D. Hock, whom she married on October 24, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2018.

Judy graduated from CASHS in 1964 and immediately went on to be a secretary for the Public Roads Division in Washington, DC. During her time there, she and Ken exchanged many letters which she kept banded together for keepsake. She moved back after a short time because she didn’t like being away from her love. After marriage she and Ken enjoyed dancing and going out for dinner. Everyone loved to watch them jitterbug! Later, she owned and operated her own business, Mattress Plus until retirement. She loved spending time with her best friend, Shelda Kell-Neubaum of more than 50 years. They loved thrift shopping every Wednesday and did lots of local shopping and lunch on Sundays. Judy also spent every day visiting and spending time with her mother who also had Alzheimer's.

Surviving are three children, Deb Hock (Rob) of Chambersburg, Missy Burns and husband, Randy, of Fayetteville, and Kenneth “Hockey” Hock (Monica) of Chambersburg. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren, Charlie (wife Kirsten), Andy (wife Ashley), Megan (Skyler), Blair (husband Lance), Georgia (Alex); 8 great-grandchildren, Nolan, Blake, Lucus, Caroline, Brinlee, Brogan, August, and Mitchell.
