Julia Annie Sirman Shiver

Julia Annie Sirman Shiver went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital after a brief illness. Born on February 11, 1928 in Valdosta, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Hamp Sirman, Sr. and Annie Ida Sirman. She was a great and special mother who took pride and interest in all her children’s activities. She enjoyed bird watching from her chair, NASCAR, search puzzles, going for long rides, and stopping at Dairy Queen for a vanilla ice cream cone. She was proud to be able to talk about her 1970 visit to Europe to visit her daughter and son-in-law who was stationed in Germany with the Army. She traveled all over during her two weeks with them touring Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and Czechoslovakia.

She was also proud of her children; her daughters, Mary Kathleen Shiver (at home), Sharon L. Sowers (husband Michael) of Sanford, NC; her son John W. Shiver (wife Heidi) of Doylestown, PA; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and a great-grandson. She is also survived by two brothers, Velmer C. Sirman (wife Bessie) of Jacksonville, FL and John H. Sirman, Jr. of Orange Park, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her loving husband of 44 ½ years, Johnny W. Shiver, Sr., passed away in June of 1997 and her son Victor W. Shiver passed away in November of 2005.
