Julia V. Chicklo, 101, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Born on October 20, 1912 in Jeanette, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Belfiglio Cipresse. She was the widow of Matthew J. Chicklo.
Years ago, she and Matthew owned two restaurants; one in Kane, PA and another in Winchester VA. Julia also owned a children’s clothing store in Orange, California with her sister, Irma. She was an accomplished cook, seamstress and business woman. A humble and beautiful person, Julia treated everyone with respect. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma and Angeline, and a brother Quindy.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Matthew Jr. (Betty) and James; her five grandchildren Paige, James J, Michael, Brian and Todd; four great grandchildren, Bryce, Tyler J, Jacob D, and Dalton J.; and her former daughter-in-law Peggy.
Private funeral services were conducted by Rev. Father James O’Brien at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. She has been entombed beside her husband in the mausoleum at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
