June Helen Miller, 94, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Menno Haven. Born May 4, 1923 in Edenville, she was a daughter of the late William Merle and Lucy Mildred Shatzer Miller. She was a 1947 graduate of the Temple University School of Nursing and in 1962 earned at Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Temple University Hospital from 1947 until her retirement in 1988 and had served with the US Army Nursing Corps during WWII. She was a member of Edenville United Methodist Church where she had at one time served as auditor. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed family gatherings on Sunday afternoons. She was a member of the St. Thomas Sportsmen’s Association and her hobbies included reading, word puzzles, games, puzzles, and spending time working with yarn.

Surviving are two sisters, Mary H. Strock and Gloria Jean Stepler of St. Thomas, many nieces, nephews, and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty J. Pensinger and Doris E. Sites, and two brothers, Paul Raymond Miller and Marvin Merle Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Her Grand Nephew, Pastor Matthew B. Pensinger will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
