Junior Grenke

Junior W. Grenke II, age 57, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly in the Chambersburg Hospital on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Born September 3, 1953 in Cumberland, MD; he was the son of Anna Lucille Fulk Grenke and the late Junior W. Grenke.

Junior graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1971; he went on to work at Grove Worldwide for 27 years; and most recently for E.M. Banzhoff Painting and Paper Hanging for the last 10 years and as a Real Estate agent for Jack Gaughen/ERA for the last 3 years. Junior spent his free time working outside and in the garden; he also enjoyed going to the beach, playing golf, cooking, following the Yankees, and NASCAR.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 29 years, Kate Dietrich Grenke, whom he married on May 2, 1981; his cherished daughter, Heather D. Grenke of Chambersburg; four siblings, Rodney Grenke, Vickie Lawson, Mike Grenke all of Chambersburg and Lisa Lindsay of Halifax, PA; and his grandson, Oscar the dog.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1 PM at the World Harvest Outreach Church, 1090 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg, PA, with Pastors Emmert Banzhoff and Gene Strite officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6-9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the Church. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in his name to Summit Cancer and Hematology Services, for the purchase of additional televisions for future patients, who are going through treatment, 755 Norland Ave, #100, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
