Karen Fedele

Karen Diane Fedele, 56, of Shippensburg, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 7, 1961, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Orlena M. Hummer Kuhn and husband William E. “Bill” Kuhn and the late Clifford V. Speer.

Karen was a 1979 graduate of CASHS. A U.S. Army veteran, she served honorably from 1980 – 1981. She later earned her associates degree from Hagerstown Business College in 1992. She was employed at J. Schoeneman Co. for five years and most recently at the Chambersburg Hospital as a dietary aide. She attended Shippensburg First Church of God. Karen enjoyed crocheting, collecting Willow Tree Angels, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The light of her life was her granddaughter.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Gerard C. “Jerry” Fedele; two sons, Christopher N. Foschia of Shippensburg and Matthew W. Foschia (Candy Mitchell) of Chambersburg; her step-daughter, Alisha K. Fedele of Orbisonia; two grandchildren, Miliani S. Foschia and Braxton Snyder; her sister, Kristina M. Speer of Chambersburg; step-mother, Judy K. Speer of McConnellsburg; two step sisters, Christina D. Redano (Mike), and Deanna Miller; two step-brothers, Jeff and David Speer; two uncles, Marvin L. Hummer of Chambersburg and Richard E. Kuhn (Linda) of Scotland, PA; two nephews, Jeff and Kendall; and two nieces, Ashley and Amanda. Aside from her father, Karen is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mary Hummer; her paternal step-grandparents Edgar and Jane Kuhn; and her brother-in-law, Ronald Keepler.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor Jim Rogers will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
