Karen Sue Myers, 57, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Penn Hall. She had been in nursing home care since 1993. Born April 23, 1956 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of J. Clifford and Anna K. McKenzie Harry of Chambersburg, and Harold Bingaman of Union, MI. A 1974 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Karen had worked as a realtor in the Chambersburg area. Prior to her career in real estate, she had been employed at Franklin Feed and Supply in Chambersburg. She was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church and the American Business Women’s Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, James “Jake” Myers and wife Racheal of Waynesboro; her daughter, Jennifer S. Horst and husband Darin of Chambersburg; two grandsons, Brock Myers and Dylan Horst; and two step-grandchildren, Laken and Daulton Horst. She is also survived by her brother, Dale Bingaman and wife Patty of Elkhart, IN; her sister, Brenda Winklbauer of Chambersburg; her step-sister, Cindy Scanzello and husband Mark of Chambersburg; one niece, Leanne Costello; and three nephews, Landon Oliver, McKenzie and Morgan Winklbauer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Marion First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Renner officiating. Interment will follow at Grindstone Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
