Katherine K. Furl, age 96, of Chambersburg, PA; passed away on April 25, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 17, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Herman C. Kraiss, Sr. and Janette Hakes Kraiss.
A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Furl was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg. Prior to meeting her husband she attended Bucknell University for two years.
Survivng are her children, Dorothea Cory of Chambersburg and Floyd Furl, Jr. (wife Edris) of Chambersburg; two granddaughters, Jennifer Valentine of Clinton, TN and Amy Conrad of Altoona, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd Furl, Sr. in 2002 and a brother, Herman C. Kraiss, Jr. and a sister, Dorothea Fields.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2 PM at Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Mike Miller will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
