Kathleen Snider

Kathleen H. Snider, 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born August 13, 1923 in Fannettsburg, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Edna Fleming Hill. Mrs. Snider was a graduate of the former Metal Township High School and was employed at United Telephone in Chambersburg. She was a long-time member of Central Presbyterian Church and most recently a member at the Menno Haven Chapel. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and attending craft shows. For the past 20 years she and her sister, Ruth, accompanied their brother, Robert, to the Apple Blossom and Harvest Festivals in Arendtsville, PA where he sold his wooden crafts. Her husband, John M. Snider, preceded her in death on February 27, 1982. She was a great friend to everyone that she knew and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhea Ann Leedy and husband Randall of Chambersburg; granddaughter, Nichole Henson and husband David of Little Rock, AR; great-granddaughter, Amber Henson; brother Robert N. Hill, Sr. and wife Arlene of Denver, PA; sister Ruth Forbes of Chambersburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and James.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Chaplain Vernon Isner officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
