Kathleen Lael Harple Staub, age 80, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012, while surrounded by loved ones. Born in Sandusky, Ohio on April 18, 1931, Kay was the daughter of the late James and Marjorie Trohoskie Harple.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Plummer and husband, Ken Jr. of Chambersburg, PA; two sons, John W. Staub II and his wife, Ann, of Colorado Springs, CO, and James Arthur Staub and his wife, Jill of New Port Richey, FL; two grandchildren, Christopher Kenneth Plummer and his wife, Eileen, and Ellen Sanchez. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Nolan Plummer, and two brothers, Daniel Harple and his wife, Josephine, and Gerald Harple., and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay’s husband, Arthur J. Staub, passed away in 2010.
Kay was a loving and generous lady, a fine wife and mother, and a good friend to many. She was a talented musician and in later life, and was known for her extensive knowledge of genealogy, particularly the history of folks who settled in Adams County, PA.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 6, 2012 in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg , with Rev. Rick Noll officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
