Kathryn M. Rinker, 83, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 2015 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born August 20, 1931 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Dorothy M. Moorehead Henderson. Kathryn was a 1949 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She was employed at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg for 23 years and worked as a cook at the Moose Club and the AMVETS, both in Chambersburg. She was a member since 1965 of the Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224 Ladies Auxiliary and was a Past State Department President. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Kathryn had been very active in the community during her lifetime. She was the official scorekeeper for Little League at the Civitan field. She served as a Little League team mother and helped to organize the Sons of the AMVETS in Chambersburg. She was a Cub Scout leader at Scotland School for Veterans’ Children and had been active with the Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades in Chambersburg for many years.
She is survived by two children, Janice Leedy (husband Ross) and Jeffrey Rotz, all of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Kirk Leedy (wife Lori), Bobby Leedy (wife Danielle), Tucker Rotz, and Paige Roller (husband Rich); and six great-grandchildren, Lexi, Bailey, Brooke, Kori, Anna, and Ben. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel H. Rotz; her second husband, William G. Rinker; her son, Jere Rotz in 1970; and her brother, Richard M. Henderson.
Services and interment will be private.
