Kathy Dawn Shatzer, age 42, of Shippensburg, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 in Greencastle. Born on December 5, 1970 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of Ruth Shauf of Chambersburg
Kathy was employed with Shcreiber Foods in Shippensburg. She was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223 and the Minnequa Social Club, both in Shippensburg, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 842 in Chambersburg.
All who knew Kathy knew that she was “Hershey Park Happy.” She also enjoyed going hunting and fishing, taking trips to Ocean City, Md., and being pampered along side her daughter, Yvette, while they would have their hair styled and get pediucures. She was also a longtime Washington Redskins fan.
She is survived by three children, Yvette Starr of Hagerstown, Dillon Starr of Chambersburg, and Preston Forcino of Shippensburg; and one sister Kimbelry Trace (Mrs. Clay) of Greencastle.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 8, 2013 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd. Chambersburg, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will be private.
