Kay Arlene Lininger, 72, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born April 7, 1941 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Beulah Strait Brant. Kay was currently employed at First Data in Hagerstown, MD and had previously worked at Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, PA. One of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kay enjoyed witnessing to others in the community. Her hobbies included reading, canning, flower gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends as well as her dog, Sammy.
A dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by four children, Alice L. Starliper and husband William "Randy" of Fayetteville, PA, Lori A. Maust and husband Jeff of Chesterfield, VA, Larene K. Ogden and husband Scott of Beaver, PA, and Robert L. Lininger and wife Carrie of Mercersburg; seven grandchildren, Crystal Havens and husband Michael, Derek Starliper and wife Andrea, Ashley Starliper, Collin Ogden, Dakota Lininger, Conner Ogden, and Katlin Lininger; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Norris and Kenley Starliper. She is also survived by a brother, Ted Brant and wife Tona, and a sister, Sarah Wetzel and husband Rick, all of Mercersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall in Zullinger, PA. Interment will be private.
