Kedrick Jerrod Miles, 39, of Waynesboro, PA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at home. Born March 25, 1975 in For Pol, LA to the late Charles E. Miles and the late Mary Ann Hurks Miles, he was baptized at an early age at Liberty Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Joe Givens.
He attended School in Forest Hill, LA, Cater C. Raymond Lecompte LA, Smithsburg Jr. High Smithsburg, MD, and Waynesboro High School, Waynesboro, PA. He worked at Professional experience IMD Corp. of Waynesboro, PA; Grove Worldwide, Shady Grove, PA; Beck Manufacturing, Waynesboro, PA; Dave Shockey Auto Body, Waynesboro, PA; Cornell Abraxas, South Mountain, PA; and Burger King, Waynesboro, PA.
He was a loving father, brother uncle, and cousin. Surviving are his two sons, Easton Blinkstaff of York, PA and Brodie James Wible of Waynesboro, PA; his loving sister, Sharon Brown (Clarence) of Waynesboro, PA; two nephews, Denerick Brown (Terrie) of Chambersburg, PA and Carlton Royter (Carol) of Ft. Belvoir, VA; and a niece, Delicia A. Brown (Mandy) of York, PA, all of which he was raised with. Kedrick also leaves to mourn his nephew Kendrick (Donte) Miles, two nieces Nikeshia “Tnea” Miles and Marquita Shawtena “Quita” Miles all of Glenmora LA along with three aunts and three uncles; Florence Ellis of Houston TX, Beverly Miles of San Antonio TX, Vera Marsh of Oakland CA, Charles Hurks (Mary Sue) of Pineville LA, and John Miles of Atlanta GA, and Godparents Earnest & Joyce Hurks Jr. of Oakdale LA. Kedrick also leaves behind one great-niece A’Zayla Brown of Chambersburg PA, two great-nephews David Gamble of Chambersburg PA and Jakob Jacobs of Glenmora LA along with a very large host of cousins, loved ones and friends including a special lady - a mother-like figure to him – Mrs. Lisa McCleaf of Waynesboro, PA and lastly a very good friend, Mel Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Miles, a brother, Charles Miles, Jr., an uncle, Stanley N. George, maternal grandparents, Marie Sanders Hurks and Earnest Hurks, Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, Lillie M. and Ezell Miles.
A Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
