Kenneth A. Bumbaugh, 57, of Newburg, PA, and formerly of Blue Ridge Summit, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2023 at his home in Newburg. Born June 11, 1966 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Jean Baker Bumbaugh of Shippensburg and the late Kenneth L. Bumbaugh. Ken was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and was last employed with Pleasants Paving and Construction in Frederick, MD. He was previously employed with Canova, LLC in Laurel, MD. He was a fan of Pittsburgh Penguins hockey and Kansas City Chiefs football. Ken enjoyed reading his Bible and spending time in the mountains hunting, fishing, and camping.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Lyle Bumbaugh of Waynesboro; his sister, Gina Dougherty and husband Charles of Newburg; two nieces, Jessica Kern and husband Matthew, and Paula Robison; and his girlfriend, Timbra Shields. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Eichelberger and two brothers, Jeff Bumbaugh and Lee Sprow.

Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate Ken’s life at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dennis Sites will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service begins at 6:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
