Kenneth L. Sterner, Sr., age 88 of Fayetteville, PA, passed away at his home on Sunday, September27, 2015. Born March 9, 1927, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Milton H. and Cecelia Brauwer Sterner.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Sterner served honorably during WWII. He went on to own and operate Franklin County waxing service for 56 years. Mr. Sterner was a member of the St. Thomas American Legion. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.
Surviving are two children, Kenneth L. Sterner, Jr. (wife Donna) of Chambersburg, PA and Teena K. Wiser (husband Dennis “Bud”) of Fayetteville, PA; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and two siblings, Lewis R. Sterner of East Berlin, PA and Pauline Wagner of Naples, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah A. Wonder Sterner in 1983, four brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services at Norland Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
