Kimberly Kriner

August 20, 1957 — March 26, 2017

Kimberly G. Kriner, 59, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at LifeCare Hospital in Mechanicsburg. Born August 20, 1957 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of Althea Hess Bigler Didyk and the late Galen Bigler.

Kimberly earned her LPN in 1990 and was employed as such with Piney Mountain Nursing Home. She later earned her B.S. degree in Human Development and Family Services in 2001 from Penn State Mont Alto and was employed as a Case Manager with the Office of the Aging in Franklin County and later in Cumberland County until her retirement in 2013 after 15 years of service. She was a member of Trough Creek United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the AmVets Post 224, American Legion Post 46, and the VFW Post 1599, all in Chambersburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and playing bingo.

Surviving are three children, Samantha Piper and husband Karl, Danyell Hanks and husband David, and Jacob Kriner and wife Corinne, all of Chambersburg; three step-children, Harold Ray Kriner II of Waynesboro, Rebecca McCauley and husband Mike of Mont Alto, and Katherine Moats of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; six siblings, Gary Stevens, Kenzel Bigler, Jane Bigler, Gale Crow, Rebecca Vazzola, and Corey Bigler. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold R. Kriner on September 27, 2000; two siblings, Teresa McNew and Jeffrey Bigler; her step-father Jacob Didyk; and her step son-in-law, James Moats.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 31, 2017 in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisle Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. The family requests the omission of flowers and asks that memorial contributions be made in her name to Trough Creek United Methodist Church, 130 Maple Street, Cassville, PA 16623.
