Konstantinos J. “Charlie” Masgalas, age 66, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at his home with his family by his side. Born in Neochori, Greece on July 19, 1948, he was the son of the late Ioannis and Anastasia Zahos Masgalas.
A business owner alongside his wife, they owned and operated 30 West Family Restaurant for the last 25 years. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to spend time in the woods, hunting.
Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Hrisoula Masgalas, whom he married on July 28, 1974; two sons, Ioannis Masgalas (wife Sheena) of Chambersburg, PA and George Masgalas (wife Kasey) of St. Thomas, PA; four grandchildren, Charlie, Athan, Carson, and Maysen; four siblings, Nick Masgalas (wife Asimo), Anastasia Zahos (husband John), Vicki Katsaros (husband Lee) and Dimitria Tsortos (husband Charlie) all of Chambersburg, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services to honor Charlie’s life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Mary Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East Chambersburg, PA 17202, where Fr. Mark Lichtenstein will celebrate. Interment will follow the service at Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name to the above church and address.
