Larry Bietsch

Larry Bietsch, age 77, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Born February 13, 1944, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Merle K. and Helen R. Bailey Bietsch.
Larry worked at the former H.J. Heinz Company until it’s closure and then at T.B. Woods, and finally Ty Construction, where he retired. He cherished spending time with family, his grandchildren, and watching old western movies.
Surviving are three daughters, Tracey Hammond (husband Jamie) of Chambersburg, PA, April Katavitch (husband Bill) of Chambersburg, PA, and Angie Bietsch of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren, Tyler George (wife Ann Marie), Amber Katavitch (fiancé Denver Shatzer), Dylan McIlveen, Ashlyn Katavitch, Austin Katavitch, and Brynn Hammond; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Pyne and Case George; and two siblings, Nancy Pittman and Douglas Bietsch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Merle, Betty, Joan, Shirley, Donald, Patricia, Jack, and Linda.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private in Norland Cemetery.
