Larry L. Daywalt, 73, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday evening, April 26, 2014 at ManorCare Health Services. Born April 7, 1941 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Maurice and Mildred Sprow Daywalt. Larry was a graduate of the former Quincy High School and served with the US Navy from 1960-1964. He had been employed for 23 years at the Landis Tool Company in Waynesboro. He also worked at SKF Industries in Shippensburg, the former Whalen Motors and County Market in Chambersburg, and was last employed at Staples Distribution Center in Hagerstown. He was a member of St. James United Brethren Church. Larry especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included hunting, Duckpin bowling, and hunting mushrooms. He had bowled in a Duckpin league in Waynesboro and Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Carbaugh Daywalt, whom he married February 26, 1966; his son, Craig and wife Lisa Daywalt of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Brandi Kohler of Chambersburg and Brent Hockenberry and wife Leah of Chambersburg; two great-grandchildren, Zaine Hockenberry and Greyson Zullinger; a brother, Rodney Daywalt and wife Karen Jo of South Mountain; and a sister, Karen Daywalt and Donna Kline of Waynesboro. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Murray Stevens officiating. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday and from Noon-1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
