Larry E. Stoner, Sr., 67, of Fayetteville, stepped into Glory surrounded by his family on Friday morning, January 29, 2016 at his home. Born October 27, 1948 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Robert Glenn and Helen Fritz Stoner.
Larry was a 1966 graduate of CASHS. He was employed as a machine setup and operator at Mack Truck for 40 years until his retirement in 2008. Larry was a member of Chambersburg Bible Church where he served as a board member and a Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sherry Smith Stoner, whom he married on June 17, 1967; three children, Larry Stoner, Jr. (wife Lisa), Stephanie McBeth (husband Ed), and Deborah Findley (husband Tom), all of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Garrett and Luke Stoner, Aaron, Evan and Dara McBeth, and Ayden and Levi Findley; and four siblings, Dennis W. Stoner (wife Christine) of Whidbey Bay, WA, Frederick C. Stoner of Lewes, DE, Theodore D. Stoner of Chambersburg, and Carol A. Lanehart of Greencastle.
A funeral service to honor Larry’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Chambersburg Bible Church, 810 Orchard Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Pastor Gary Yoder will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202; and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Bible Church at the above address.
