Lauren J. Shank, Sr.

Lauren J. Shank, Sr., 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 2, 1936 in Needmore, PA, he was a son of the late Boyd and Marie Barnhart Shank.

 Lauren was a 1956 graduate of Southern Fulton High School. He was employed as Produce Manager first with Carl’s Market, ACME, Sunnyway Foods for ten years, and lastly with Giant for 20 years until his retirement. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed going to races and rooting for Jimmie Johnson.

 He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy L. Miller Shank; daughter, Debbie Bricker (husband Jeffrey) of Chambersburg, two grandchildren, Chad Shank (wife Sara) of Springfield, and Amanda Shank of Chambersburg; two great grandsons, Xavier and Isaac; and two siblings, Verna Stevens of Needmore, and Thomas Shank of Orrtanna. Aside from his parents, Lauren was preceded in death by his son, Lauren J. Shank, Jr. in 2020; and three siblings, Dean Shank, Phyllis Patterson and Delores Meek.

 Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at geiselfuneralhome.com.
