Lavinna Housley

Lavinna Housley, 87, of Kiowa, OK, died at 5:35 AM Monday October 17, 2011 at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA. Born December 2, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA, she was a daughter of the late Elmer I. and Jessie M. Stites Miller. She moved to Kiowa, OK at the age of 6 where she lived until moving to her daughter’s home in Orrstown, PA in July 2010. Her beloved husband of 69 years, Elmer Lee Housley preceded her in death on July 12, 2010. A homemaker most of her life, Lavinna enjoyed quilting, vegetable gardening, and canning.

She is survived by two daughters, Jolene H. Zufall and husband Charles of Orrstown, PA and Mary M. Stokes and husband Mike of Gardnerville, NV; and two grandchildren, John Stokes and wife Karey of Ashland, OK and Leeanna Stokes, of Gardnerville, NV. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian T. Zufall; a sister, Evelene Jenease Bond; and a brother, Elvin Steven “Bud” Miller.

Services and interment will be private.
