Leah Krenitsky

Leah B. (Lader) Krenitsky, 94, of Chambersburg, died on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Menno Haven. Born on November 24, 1918 in Quincy, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Jessica (Loman) Lader.

Leah was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #1426 in Chambersburg. She was active in the Officer’s Wives Club and the Red Cross where she earned a 25 year service pin. A military wife for 28 years, she traveled with her husband to Michigan, Germany, Turkey, Illinois and New York. She enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting, playing bridge, quilting, golf, bowling, and was an active volunteer at her church.

She is survived by her son Thomas D. Jr. (and wife Vicki) of Chambersburg; two grandsons, Thomas D. Krenitsky III of Atlanta, GA and Scott D. Krenitsky (and wife Carissa) of Reading; four great grandchildren; Ashley, Emily, Ethan and Cole Krenitsky; and one sister, Jean Boerner of Downingtown, PA. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 64 years, Thomas D. Krenitsky Sr. on September 11, 2005; two sisters, and one brother. .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 1095 Church Road, Orrtanna, PA 17353. Rev. Daniel O’Brien will officiate. Interment in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
