Leah M. (Smith) Williams, 89, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 in her home. Born September 15, 1935 in Chambersburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Agnes (Finkey) Smith.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1954. Leah was employed for the Chambersburg Area School District in the cafeteria. She retired after 24 ½ years ending her career at Falling Spring Elementary School. She was a faithful and active member of King Street Chambersburg where she was part of the Buds of Promise Sunday School Class and she also helped in the children and youth groups programs. Leah enjoyed going to craft shows and flea markets and tending to her flower gardens.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Wesley F. Williams who she married July 17, 1954; a daughter, Leann M. Root and her fiancé Nova Lawrence Andrews, Jr.; a niece, Robbie A. Foreman of New Jersey; several great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Phyllis Elliott of PA; and brother-in-law Duane Williams of PA. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin brother, Lee R. Smith and sister, Belva G, Foreman.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning in the funeral home.
