Lee L. Cusmano

October 28, 1946 — March 22, 2025

Chambersburg

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lee L. Cusmano, age 78, of Chambersburg, PA who passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025 at Paramount Rehabilitation in Fayetteville, PA. Lee was born on October 28, 1946 in Elizabeth NJ., to Carmine and Connie Cusmano (Nee LaTorre).

Lee’s youth was filled with fun times in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, ice boating and going to the Jersey shore and boardwalk. He had a career in engineering and drafting with Edison Labs, PSE&G, Johnson Electric Service Company and On Board Chemical, and later with his own company Leelynd Alarm & Lock Co., all in New Jersey.

A talented and creative spirit, Lee was known for his exceptional skills as a woodworker and pastel artist. Whether creating beautiful, handcrafted furniture or capturing the beauty of the world through his art, his work always reflected his dedication and love for craftsmanship. One of Lee’s most recent joys has been creating a yearly Christmas Card with his signature “cardinal”. His passion for making things was not limited to wood and pastels; Lee had a true love for tinkering with electronics, clocks, jukeboxes, and old radios. He could often be found in his workshop, fixing and restoring old treasures with patience and precision.

Outside of his creative talents, Lee was a natural entertainer. He had a love for cooking, especially preparing his famous “Chef LeeLee’s Chicken Piccata”, which was always a favorite among friends and family. Lee loved to cook and share meals with those he cared about, and he and Lynn often hosted gatherings where laughter and great food filled the air. His sense of humor was a big part of his repertoire, and Lee loved a good practical joke. He had endless jokes and stories to tell with characters and funny voices to match.

An avid music lover, Lee enjoyed listening and playing music (especially 50’s) and always loved a good jam session with friends. He also enjoyed traveling, whether it was a trip to Bermuda, a day exploring & antiquing, or a long ride through the mountains. Together, he and Lynn enjoyed plays and musicals, especially at the Totem Pole & Allenberry Playhouse.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Lynn Cyron; his son Tom Cusmano; daughter, Amy Zimmer (Bob); grandchildren Trevven Cusmano, Logan Zimmer, Olivia Zimmer, Dublin Cusmano, Miles Cusmano, James Cusmano; great-grandchild Arlo Cusmano, and he is survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins along with many dear and treasured friends. Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Cusmano and sister, Diana Condit.

In accordance with Lee’s wishes, burial will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lee’s name to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 1720. OR online at https://cvas pets.org/

Lee’s memory will live on through his art, pieces of woodworking he created or restored, his love for family and friends, and the joy and laughter he brought to all who knew him. Rest in peace, Lee. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit and talents will always be with us.
