Lee Robert Smith age 83, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born September 15, 1935, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Agnes Finkey Smith.
A 1953 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Mr. Smith went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a supervisor for the former James River Company in Chambersburg for 35 years. Mr. Smith was a member of the American Legion Post 46, Amvets Post 224, and a life member of the VFW post 1599, the Chambersburg Club, and the Marine Corp, all in Chambersburg. Lee was an outdoorsman and enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He loved chopping wood and repairing fishing rods.
Surviving is his son, Lee Robert Smith, Jr. of Chambersburg, PA; granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Smith; companion of fifteen years, Patricia Snider; two siblings, Belva Foreman of Chambersburg, PA and Leah M. Williams (Wesley) of New Franklin, PA, and multiple nieces.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
