Lena Mumper

Lena Mae Mumper, 82, of Chambersburg, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 14, 2012 in Manor Care Health Services. Born on June 4, 1930 in East Freedom, PA, she was a daughter of the late Winfield and Eliza Scott.

Mrs. Mumper worked as a clerk at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, where she retired in 1992 with over 20 years of service. She volunteered her time at the Chambersburg Hospital for over 10 years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, painting, singing and canning. Lena was a member of Spirit of Christ Community Church.

Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Albert L. Mumper, whom she married on January 12, 1963; three children, Joseph S. Mumper (wife, Pam Snyder) of Mercersburg, Mark E. Mumper of Chambersburg, and Crystal Yoder (husband, Daryl) of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Rachel Mumper, Erin Mumper, Matthew Mumper (fiancé Mary Kate Martin), Bridget Snyder, and Samantha Mumper; one great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Mumper; two sisters, Grace Hoover of Martinsburg, PA and Nina Conrad of Barnesville, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings: Ruth, Elsie, Flora and John

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Spirit of Christ Community Church, 1985 Wenger Lane, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Danny Browell officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Chruch one hour prior to the service.
