Lila Fickes

Lila M. Fickes, 77, of Fayetteville, PA, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 5, 2012 at her home. Born November 26, 1934 in South Mountain, PA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Virginia Staley Kauffman. Lila was employed at the former Tracy Fashions in Chambersburg and attended Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special love for her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Her husband, Garnet T. Fickes, whom she married June 5, 1954, preceded her in death on February 7, 2007.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Fickes of Chambersburg; her daughter, Karen Kimple and husband Jeffrey of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Jesse and Ali Kimple and Shane Fickes; a step-grandson, Jason Andrew; and a great-granddaughter, Jayla Andrew. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Kauffman of Mena, Arkansas and Edward Kauffman of Fayetteville; and a special sister-in-law, Carol Ann Kauffman of Fayetteville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Baker and Raymond Kauffman.

Friends are invited to celebrate Lila’s life on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the home of Jeffrey and Karen Kimple, 4902 Treher Road, Fayetteville, PA.
