Lillian Jonas

Lillian Marie Jonas (Altvater), 92, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on May 31, 2017. She was the daughter of Charles and Eloise Altvater, of Baltimore, MD. Lillian was preceded in death by Edward Sr., her husband of fifty-one years and her youngest brother, Frances. She is survived by her younger brother, William (Quantico, MD); two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Jr and Chongmi of Chambersburg and Gary and Terry of Evansville, IN; and six grandchildren, Sandra (Houston, TX), Michelle (Los Angeles, CA), Charlyn (New York, NY), Michael (Chambersburg, PA), Ashley (Evansville, IN) and Bradley (Evansville, IN). Lillian was active in the Calvary Baptist Church of Chambersburg and an avid birdwatcher, especially hummingbirds. She loved quiet times with family and friends, and her church activities.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Dan McClintock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.
