Linda Divelbiss

Linda L. Divelbiss, 66, of Chambersburg, PA, was called to her heavenly home by her Savior on January 21, 2013 at the Chambersburg Hospital, following a six month illness. Born on January 9, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Helen Keefer Divelbiss.
After graduating from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1964, she began a career with the U.S. Government’s DOT and retiring from NTSHA after 39 years on December 2, 2003. During her career she was honored many times for her excellence in performance, she was the Administrative Assistant to the Administrator of the Nation Highway Traffic Safety Administration at the time of her retirement. During her career, she resided in Virginia with her beloved aunt and uncle, Stover and Margaret Divelbiss Walter; then moving back to Chambersburg in 2011. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, boating, and being in the company of her beloved pet pug, Skuddles. Linda had a very generous heart and helped and enriched the lives of many people. She was a member of the Welsh Run Church of the Brethren. ]
Surviving are three sisters, Shirley Lilley (husband Michael) of Baltimore, MD; Judy Mongold (husband James) of Chambersburg, PA; and Brenda Divelbiss of Chambersburg, PA, Nephews, Shawn Ott (wife Brandy) and their son, Cashal; and Todd Lilley (wife Jackie) and their daughters, Julia and Emma. In addition she is survived by two nieces Tara and Heather Lilley.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1 PM at the Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, 11420Welsh Run Rd., Mercersburg, PA; where Pastor Nathan West and Pastor Bill Spangler will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, Cemetery Fund, c/o Burnell Rice, 7972 Wayne Hwy., Waynesboro, PA 17268 or the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
