Linda I. Gossert, 73, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 under hospice care while at SpiriTrust Lutheran after a 14.5 year battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Born January 23, 1952 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Joyce (Eckstein) Adams.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1970. Linda was an active member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church. She was a member of the Helping Hands sewing ministry and was the prayer list and activities coordinator for her Sunday School Class. Although the Chambersburg area was always home, Linda got to travel throughout the United States with her husband’s work for a couple decades and made many dear lifelong friends while living for awhile in places like California, Nevada and Georgia.
Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gerald “Jere” E. Gossert whom she married on September 27, 1975; four children, Randy Gossert (Margie) of Georgia, Ricky Gossert (Kathy) of Fayetteville, Dawn Gossert (Joe Fink) of Marion, PA, and Lori Ann Gossert of Fayetteville; two daughters-in-law Jody and Bertha Gossert; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ken Adams, Jr. (Carol) of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sons, Rodger Gossert, Rodney Gossert, and Troy Farner and a brother, Steve Adams.
Services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Jim Bolich officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM as well as one hour prior to the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.
At the family’s request, please refrain from wearing any fragrances to the services.
In lieu of cat-friendly flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund at Mt. Pleasant United Brethren, 2509 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
