Lois J. Lesher, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital. Born August 22, 1930, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Erna Leberknight Stepler.
Lois was a 1949 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Following high school, she worked for the telephone company in Chambersburg, as well as Strite’s Fabric Shoppe. She then worked for JOANN Fabric and Craft Store in Chambersburg, first as a sales clerk, and then as the store manager for 25 years until her retirement. Lois was a long time member of the Second Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chambersburg, and was a member of the Annie Liebold Sunday School Class. Lois loved to knit, sew and cross stitch, as well as watching golf, spending time outdoors at the beach or by the pool, and playing cards. She treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren and they all fondly remember her for always having a secret stash of candy.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Lucinda Rebuck and Donna (Rodney) Hager, both of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Lanier of Chambersburg, Nicole (Matt) McCleary of St. Thomas, Brandon (Shanna) Rebuck of East Stroudsburg, Ryan (Hannah) Rebuck of Chambersburg, and Lindsay Rebuck of Chambersburg; seven great-grandchildren, Shaun and Luke Lanier, Kaleb, Brycen, and Sofia McCleary, and Everly and Aubrey Rebuck; and one brother, Kenneth Stepler, of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Stepler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Second Evangelical Lutheran Church, 240 E Washington St., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6 to 9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
