Lois K. Peckman, 85, of St. Thomas, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, December 13, 2018. Born February 6, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Omar and Catherine Shank Kipe. She was a graduate of the former Messiah High School in Grantham, PA. Mrs. Peckman and her husband owned and operated Pleasant View Farm Dairy in St. Thomas from 1957-1997 where they produced, processed, and sold milk. She was a member of West Side Brethren In Christ Church; was a charter member and sang with the Gospel Tide Hour Choir for many years; was active with the Christian Women’s Club; and served as a volunteer with hospice. Her husband, Mervin E. Peckman, whom she married June 3, 1951, preceded her in death on July 5, 2003.
She is survived by her son, Dennis W. Peckman (Barb) of St. Thomas, PA; her daughter, Colleen Stayman (Richard) of Seeley Lake, MT; five grandchildren, Shawn L. Stayman (Casey) of Colorado, Benjamin W. Peckman (Sharon) of Pennsylvania, Joseph W. Heikman (Keri) of Saskatchewan; Keith L. Stayman (Candace) of Idaho, and Melody S. Beeler (Stephen) of Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Janet Martin of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Keith Kipe, Gladys Paulus, Frank Kipe, Howard Kipe, and Alan Kipe.
A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at West Side Brethren In Christ Church, Chambersburg, PA where her grandson, Pastor Keith Stayman will officiate. Family and friends are invited to attend a fellowship luncheon immediately following the service on Tuesday at the church. Private interment will be held at Air Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
