Lois M. Reisher, age 84, of Chambersburg, passed away Saturday morning, December 13, 2014 at her home. Born November 16, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Emerson and Blanche Sleighter Martin. Her beloved husband, Walter Reisher, preceded her in death on April 10, 2008.
A 1949 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Lois then worked for the H.J. Heinz Company until she retired in 1975. She then worked at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe for five years. She attended King Street United Brethren Church for many years and was most recently attending the Abundant Life Chapel. She enjoyed going to auctions, decorating for Christmas, flower gardening, and was a talented artist. She also enjoyed being with her family and she loved her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by four children, Thomas Reisher and wife Jacqueline of Akron, PA, Larry Reisher and wife Cielo of Guam, Gary Reisher and wife Melody of Fayetteville, and Tammie Myers of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, Chad Yeager and wife Jamie of MD, Tony Tripp of AL, Nikki Reisher of Guam, Stephanie Stumbaugh and husband Curtis of FL, Regina Hieserman and husband Charles of Allentown, Savannah Try of Greencastle, Briana Reisher of Fayetteville, and Shannon Myers, Jr. of Chambersburg; and a sister, Jean Baughman and husband Daniel of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by three children, Terry Reisher, Jerry Reisher, and Sharon Tripp.
A funeral service to honor Lois’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastors Sam and Nancy Myers will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
