Lois Scott

Lois “Jean” Scott, 89, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 6, 1934 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Cecil E. and Ada Ruth Umbaugh Byers. Her beloved husband, Donald J. “Jim” Scott, preceded her in death on October 24, 2023.

Jean was employed as a salesperson at the Chambersburg and Fredericksburg locations of Electrolux Vacuum Equipment. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ in Chambersburg. She enjoyed camping especially at Twin Bridges.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Stinger and Gary Stinger; three grandchildren, Amy Osbaugh, Michael Stinger, Jr., and Cody Stinger, and their families; one brother, Robert J. Byers; her niece, Robin Byers Volpe; and her nephew, Robert C. Byers.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Cornerstone Church of Christ, 1350 Tallow Hill Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor Bob Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00- 6:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Norland Cemetery. The omission of flowers is requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church of Christ. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
