Lois Smith

Lois Velma Gelsinger Weller Smith, age 77, a resident at the Shook Home in Chambersburg, PA; passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Waynesboro, PA on June 30, 1934, she is the daughter of Velma B. Weller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Smith on April 23, 1981.

Mrs. Smith was a 1954 graduate of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia, PA and a member of Deaf Services of Easter Seal in Chambersburg and the deaf fellowship of the Open Door Church, also in Chambersburg. Lois was employed by the former Gettysburg Shoe Factory and the former Greencastle Shoe Factory and the former Chambersburg Hosiery Mill.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 2:30 PM in Lincoln Cemetery, where Pastor Mike Sanders will officiate. The Family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 12 noon until 2 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Fellowship of the Open Door Church, 600 Miller St., Chambersburg, PA.
