Lois Stambaugh

November 24, 1928 — June 30, 2018

Lois L. “Babe” Stambaugh, 89, of Chambersburg, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, June 30, 2018, in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 24, 1928, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Gerald M. and Ruth M. Keebaugh Kegerreis. Her beloved husband, Joseph A. Stambaugh, preceded her in death in 1984. Lois was a 1946 graduate of Pine Gove High School. Lois enjoyed watching Penn State football and the Baltimore Orioles. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, watching old movies, bowling and was an avid bird watcher and feeder.

She is survived by four children, Linda “Chris” Wilkinson and husband Roger of New Cumberland, PA, Steven Stambaugh of Chambersburg, Susan Granger and husband Jesse of McAlester, OK and Barb Gump and husband Russell of Chambersburg; one grandson, Andrew Wilkinson and wife Lisa of Harrisburg, PA; two great-grandsons, Noah and Henry; one sister, Sara Underkoffler and husband Jack of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by three siblings, Geraldine Weand, Jim Kegerreis and Art Kegerreis.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 5, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Dr. Stephen Underwood will officiate. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
