Lois D. Swartz of Fayetteville, PA passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Mercy House of Chambersburg, PA. Born May 31, 1933 in Eads, TN she was the daughter of the late Jerome Lovell and Ruby Pearl (Crook) Dougher of Eads, TN.
Lois retired from the U.S. Department of the Army (Fort Huachuca, AZ) on Jan. 15, 1987 after a full career as a Computer Specialist. She made and sewed most all of her own clothes during her career. After she retired she began making many quilts for both beds and laps and she also liked many different types of embroidery projects. After her husband retired, they enjoyed taking a number of various cruises with friends.
Lois is survived by her husband of 41 years, Edward H. Swartz of Fayetteville, PA, a daughter Patricia Denise Zimmerman (husband Tim) of Hereford, AZ, and a son Christopher Keith Columbus of Mission, TX.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Maude Agnes Gamble and her brothers Richard Lovell Dougher, and Paul Samuel Dougher.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all those who have cared for Lois.
In accordance with Lois’ wishes, there will be no services and her burial will be private. Interment will be at the Norland Cemetery of Chambersburg, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg, PA.
