Lois M. Yocum, age 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, in Menno Haven Nursing Center. Born January 5, 1928, in Marion, PA, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna Lenherr Kyle.
Mrs. Yocum was a 1946 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She went on to work at the former Stanley company for 33 years, all while maintaining her home and family as a homemaker. She was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church for over 75 years. Her hobbies included her family, her love of cooking, maintaining her home, including mowing her own grass until age 88, knitting, crocheting, and completing jig saw puzzles.
Surviving are two sons, Victor Yocum and wife Sandi of Myrtle Beach, SC and Johnson Yocum and wife Bonnie of Chambersburg, PA; a grandson, Patrick Yocum and wife Hillary; and two great-grandchildren, Elise and Katie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnson W. Yocum in 1991 and a brother, Robert Kyle.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11 AM at Marion United Methodist Church, 94 Colorado St, Marion, PA 17235, where Pastor Brent Stouffer will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17201. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name to the above church and address.
