Lorie Poe

Lorie J. (Pitarra) Poe, 65, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 1, 1951 in Nanticoke, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lucia Territo Pitarra and Leonard F. Pitarra, Sr. Lorie was a 1969 graduate of the Berwick Area Senior High School and was employed for 30 years by Franklin County, retiring in 2006. She was a member of New Guilford Brethren In Christ Church and the Franklin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Lorie loved cats and enjoyed crafts and puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Travis Charles Byers of St. Thomas; and two brothers, Lawrence L. Pitarra and wife Patricia of Lancaster, PA and Leonard F. Pitarra, Jr. of Berwick, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Kemler and Leanetta Kershner.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Services and interment will be in Berwick, PA.
