Lorraine M. Evans, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 25, 2013 at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg. Born May 7, 1932 in St. Thomas Township, she was a daughter of the late Chester Baker and Louella Bernice Diffenderfer Shatzer. A graduate of the former St. Thomas High School, Mrs. Evans was employed as a supervisor at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg and later retired from South Mountain Restoration Center where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of the Edenville United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included gardening and traveling. Her husband, Kermit Robert Evans, preceded her in death on May 10, 1999.
She is survived by two children, K. Chad Evans of Fayetteville and Lorile (Mrs. Steve) Eberly of Greencastle; four grandchildren, Devin M. Fields of Chambersburg, Ryan K. Eberly of Greencastle, Sade A. Wardlaw and Cody L. Wardlaw, both of Texas; a brother, Dick F. Shatzer of Dillsburg; and a sister, Victoria (Mrs. Paul) McClain of Greencastle. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Shatzer, and a sister, Leona Sites.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 30, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Terry Hoke officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
