Louella Friese

Louella M. Friese, 98, a resident of the Shook Home and formerly of Ft. McCord Road, Chambersburg, PA, died Saturday morning, November 22, 2014 at the nursing home. Born November 25, 1915 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Upton and Ester Rife. She was married to Kenneth Friese for 72 years prior to his passing on December 22, 2007. She and her husband owned Friese’s Orchard near Chambersburg and early in her life she had been employed at the former Stanley Company. She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church, the Women’s Homemakers Club, and served as a 4-H leader. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and enjoyed talking to the customers at the orchard.

Louella is survived by her son, Cecil (Doris) Friese of Chambersburg; her daughter, Brenda (Ray) Morris of Chambersburg; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Friese; three brothers; and three sisters. She was the last of her immediate family

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Marc Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
