Lowell C. Heefner, 83 of Biglerville, PA, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born December 2, 1934, a native of Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Benjamin Leroy Heefner and Pearl Gardner Heefner.
Lowell graduated from Chambersburg High School, and had a teaching degree from Shippensburg College (now University). Lowell was amongst many things a loving husband, a school teacher, a land developer, and a father of two. He enjoyed working with horses in his youth, and spent his last years enjoying reading and the mountain land he so adored. His extensive knowledge of history was surpassed by few, and his hands were no stranger to hard work. His charity efforts and benevolences were much, yet were always kept modestly unspoken.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Heefner; his sister, Linda Heindel with her husband Ned; and his sons, Ben Heefner and Albert Heefner.
Private graveside services will be held in Quincy Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
