Lowell Mower

Lowell R. Mower, age 82, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Life Care Hospital, in Mechanicsburg, PA. Born August 26, 1935, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Robert Murray Mower and Miriam Isabel Forsythe Mower.
Lowell was a 1955 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He served honorably in the US Army until his discharge in 1961. He then worked at Letterkenny Army Depot as a keypunch operator, retiring in 2000 after 38 years of service. Lowell was a dedicated member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. He spent much of his time volunteering for church functions and helped with the Meals on Wheels program. In his free time, he enjoyed watching old movies.
Surviving is his cousin, Donald Mower and wife Louise, of Chambersburg, and numerous other cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 1140 Edgar Ave., Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Rachel Wong will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Park Avenue United Methodist Church, at the above address.
