Luann Truax

Luann Harriet Truax, age 65, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center. Born October 26, 1950 in Brattleboro, VT, she was the daughter of Harriet Coolbrith Gassette and the late Norman Gassette. Her loving husband, Norman Truax, whom she married on May 23, 1993, preceded her in death on February 2, 2012.

Luann was a 1968 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. She then earned her LPN and was employed as such for many years. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg. Luann enjoyed going to church, gardening and her dog, Hank.

In addition to her mother, Luann is survived by four sons, Jamison Steffen of State College; Josiah Steffen (wife June) of Dry Run, Joshua Steffen (wife Wendy) of Shippensburg, and Jedidiah Steffen of Aspers, PA; nine grandchildren, Natasha, Austin, Trevor, Cheyanne, Kristian, Sera, Jazzmyn, Marcus, and Tyler; three siblings, Dale Gassette, Sherry Rowe, and Chris; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Heckman (husband Randy) of Shippensburg.

A funeral service to honor Luann’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Garry Kipe will officiate. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
