Lucille Myers

Lucille C. Myers, 89, of 134 Village Square and formerly of 740 Cumberland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday morning, June 11, 2011 in the nursing home at Menno Haven where she had been a guest for the past three weeks. Born March 6, 1922 in Hamilton Township, Franklin County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jacob F. and Ida May Leib Cosey. Mrs. Myers was a 1940 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and was employed as a seamstress at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg for thirty-two years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Golden Age Club in Chambersburg. She enjoyed traveling. Her beloved husband, Wallace B. Myers, whom she married May 30, 1943, preceded her in death on December 16, 1982. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

The last of her immediate family, she is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family including nephews Marvin Rife and Marlin Rife, both of Chambersburg; and Great-Nephew Larry Shew of Brunswick, MD, with whom she enjoyed a close relationship.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Dick Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
