Luis Seabra

February 23, 1958 — February 15, 2016

Luis Augusto de Oliveira Coimbra Seabra, age 57, of Chambersburg, died on Monday, February 15, 2016, at home. Born on February 23, 1958, in Portugal, he was a son of Jose Antunes Seabra and Maria Fernanda de Oliveira Coimbra.
Luis was a high school graduate, serving two years in the Portuguese Navy Special Forces, assigned to NATO. Upon completion of his service obligation, he immigrated to South Africa where he worked as a construction foreman. He moved his family to the United States in 2010, and began his career at JLG Industries in Shippensburg. Mechanically inclined, Luis could fix anything. He was a very easy-going person, a loving father and husband. His girls were his world. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and European football. An avid reader, Luis was quite the history buff. If you had a question regarding history, he was definitely the person to ask.
In addition to his parents, Luis is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maria Salete Seabra, whom he married on September 20, 1986; two daughters, Chantel Coimbra Seabra Rodrigues, married to Pedro, and Natasha Coimbra Seabra, all of Chambersburg; two sisters, Maria Eduarda Lopes, married to Tony, of Chambersburg and M. Fernanda Pimenta, married to Rui, of Portugal.
A member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 PM on Saturday, February 20, in the Church at 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, with the Very Rev. Father Luis R. Rodriguez V. F. officiating. His remains will later be interred in his home country of Portugal. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg. The family requests the omission of flowers, and if desired memorial contributions in his name to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
