LuRae F. Saum, age 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Born May 3, 1933 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred D. and Edythe N. Funk Ferry.
A 1951 graduate of Lemaster’s High School and a 1954 graduate of Harrisburg General Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Saum worked as a Registered Nurse at the Chambersburg Hospital and at Manor Care Health Services. She was a member of the Chambersburg Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Chambersburg, PA.
Surviving are four children, Kathy Vanderau (husband Richard) of Chambersburg, Steven Saum (wife Bev) of Chambersburg, Lorri Saum of Fayetteville, and George R. “Chip” Saum, Jr. (wife Debbie) of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four siblings, John Ferry of Fairplay, MD, Earl Ferry (wife Doris) of Chambersburg, PA, Joyce Ferry of Chambersburg, PA, and Sue Fox of McConnellsburg, PA
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5878 Greenvillage Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Mr. Jason Miller will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the above Kingdom Hall and address.
