Lynne Larson

Lynne D. Larson, 48, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 28, at Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 1, 1963, in Clearfield, PA, Lynne was the daughter of Rev. Daniel and Delores Clark Hummel.

Lynne is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1985. Lynne was a member of King Street Church. A teacher at Cumberland Valley Christian School for 20 years, she was loved by all her students. She had instilled confidence in all her students and if they needed someone they could feel free to come to her. Lynne was the class advisor for the Class of 2013 and the schools Homecoming Coordinator. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and shopping.

Aside from her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dan Larson whom she married on May 24, 1986; two cherished sons, Andrew W. and Tyler J. Larson, both of Chambersburg; four siblings, Douglas C. Hummel, Tricia R. Eckert, Dana J. Fogal, and Vicki L. Teal; her mother-in-law, Lorene Larson of Chambersburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynne was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as her father-in-law, Rev. David Larson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at The Open Door Church, 600 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201; where Rev. Mike Sanders and Rev. Carl McKee will officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the church and address above and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Lynne’s name to Cumberland Valley Christian School, 600 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
